Welcome Aboard, Partner
The United States Sailing Association (US
SAILING) is divided into 38 Regional Sailing Associations (RSAs)
within 11 Yacht Racing Areas (YRAs). These are represent in the
Council of Sailing Associations.

The largest geographical area of US SAILING is
Area F. (See map.) Spanning almost 1,000,000 square miles, it
represents sailors and sailing
clubs in a large area of the Central, Southwest
and Rocky Mountain portions of the United
States. From tide-washed bays to prairie lakes to high mountain tarns, the types of sailing venues could not be more diverse.
Area F
is comprised of three Regional Sailing Associations (RSAs), stretching from
Texas' Galveston Bay in the south to
Wyoming's Lake Alcova
in the north:
Purpose
The purpose of the Area F Council of Sailing Associations is to support and
promote the sport of sailing by facilitating communication
between sailing associations within Area F, organizing Area
championships, and ensuring excellence in race management and
judging. The Council is financed by dues from the three
Association members.
Governance
The Area F Council of Sailing Associations is
governed by its Board, consisting of four officers elected by
its membership, the Area Director and three representatives selected by each of its
regional sailing associations. The Board meets annually in
January, rotating meeting locations among its member regions.
Style
Befitting its western location, Area F people are friendly and informal.
The clubs and sailing associations of Area F welcome you to join them and
offer you a choice of elevations from sea level to 9,000 feet high.

With a deep sense of loss, we mark the passing of Darline Hobock on January 15, 2010. Darline's
long, untiring service to sailing in Area F
& throughout the US can hardly be appreciated.
She led the Portsmouth Yardstick
handicapping system. She was a founding member of Windycrest Sailing Club and CSSA.
She was our webmaster until the end. Her love for sportsmanship was so great, she donated a US SAILING trophy for it.
Farewell, good friend. Fair winds and flat water to you.
Her full obituary in the Tulsa World.
