SAIL membership carries the benefit of eligibility for regional, area, and national championships. US SAILING membership is required for Area F & national championships.

 Regional Championship Tours

SAIL sponsors three regional tour championships for
    * Dinghies,
    * Keelboats and
    * PHRF classes.

Each tour consists of a circuit of regattas defined before the season begins. No entry form is needed; each individual or family member is considered entered upon paying SAIL dues for the year and the tour is scored, based on results from the tour’s regattas.

The tours are scored, based on the best results in a minimum number of regattas, by the Cox-Sprague formula, as published by US SAILING.

The only additional requirement for being scored for the tour championships is that teams who sail in more than one boat or with more than one skipper must notify the Tour Chairman and provide details before October 1 of the season being scored.
