What's New in SAIL?
Race Committee Seminar: Tom Downing's
usually popular race
committee seminar has been cancelled for 2008, due to a lack of
sign-ups. As of March 29, only two had e-mailed
Tom to express
interest. This doesn't justify the commitment of SAIL's or Tom's
resources to put on the course. For the same reason, the SailWave seminar
has also been cancelled.
- SAIL Tour: On March 29, SAIL held a meeting
of clubs and interested parties to consider
what to do about declining participation in its season championships.
Results from the survey at

cause -- what more could we ask?

To see it, go to the Cruising World website,
http://www.cruisingworld.com, and then go to the
top right of the home page where there is a tab for member
videos. Click on the tab and find Colorado Wind
there.
If you like what’s on the website, you can buy a much cleaner DVD

Dillon Open hosts 132: 83
keelboats, 26 center-boarders, & 3 multihulls gathered at Lake Dillon for a
weekend of racing on two courses. Racing was good on Saturday; the big boats
& catamarans completed three races on the main part of the lake and the
dinghies (performing before the Tiki Bar grandstand) got in 6. Sunday was a
different story; return of the monsoon brought rain, hail, & lightning and
racing was halted for safety. See
http://www.dillonyachtclub.com/.
- Sailor goes overboard, drowns: On May 23, Bob Snare,
a respected sailor, was on the foredeck of his boat at Cherry Creek Res. when a sudden gust of high wind
caused him to go overboard. He was not wearing a personal flotation
device; when the crew got the boat back to him, he was no longer visible. His body was
recovered that evening. The coroner has ruled his death due to accidental
drowning.
